Home / Finalists in GBG Form 2021 Revealed – Vote for your Favorite!
20 October 2020

39 entries have been submitted in the competition and ten have advanced to the final. The selection was made by a jury completely anonymously without knowing who was behind which design.

– It has been an exciting journey with GBG Form 2021. During the spring we contacted ADA, Konsthantverkscentrum and Svensk Form Väst and together with Brewhouse it became a competition open for everyone. The finalists show how different the interpretation of Gothenburg is in ten very different products, just as we wanted, says Jessica Winnberg, producer at Göteborg & Co for Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary.

The Citizens of Gothenburg Can Vote

Between October 20 and November 20, it is time for the public to cast their vote when ten products will be three. The citizens of Gothenburg’s votes weigh as heavily as the votes of a jury consisting of, among others, Nina Due (museum director Röhsska museet), Emre Karakoc (Power to the Youth) and Anna Elzer Oscarsson (chairman of Svensk Form Väst).

The three winners will be presented at a live gala on December 2. The anniversary products will be displayed at the Röhsska Museum, produced in 400 copies and sold at Gothenburg Visitor Centre. In addition, the winners will receive SEK 70,000 in production support and a place in the Incubator program at Brewhouse.

The purpose of the competition is to highlight the city’s creators, designers, craftsmen and artisans. The anniversary products will be an important part of the 400th anniversary celebration and symbolize Gothenburg both today and in the future – a city for everyone, with openness and community – near the water where bridges are built. GBG Form 2021 is a collaboration between Göteborg & Co and Brewhouse.
