At Litteraturbanken you can find hundreds of poetry readings. We are now looking for new voices to expand our sound collection! Do you want to read a poem on behalf of Litteraturbanken? Welcome to the Anniversary Compass in Bältespännarparken on 15/6, 10/8 or 11/8 – here we celebrate Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary with readings of poems related to Gothenburg!
A microphone is available on site. Everyone is welcome to participate! A selection of the readings will be published on Litteraturbankens site.
In the poem selection, you will find poetry broadly related to Gothenburg. Here you can find both poems by authors who worked in Gothenburg and texts about Gothenburg. The selection thus includes both Karin Boye’s timeless “Yes, of course it hurts” and Evert Taube’s “My darling”, but also Karl Gerhard’s Gothenburg song “In the infamous districts of the shabby Marseille”.
Warm welcome!

Litteraturbanken.se digitises and makes classic Swedish literature available. Everything is free to read! In conjunction with the anniversary celebration, Litteraturbanken, in collaboration with Litteraturstaden Gothenburg, is also launching a digital Gothenburg map where the places of older literature related to the city becomes visible.
