Here are the artists that will perform together with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra at the opening concert of Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival
Timo Räisänen, Maia Hirasawa, Stefan Andersson, Ebbot Lundberg, Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon, Vic Vem and Katarina Hemlin are the artists who will perform together with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra at the opening concert at the anniversary festival. Hans Ek will direct the concert together with the band Augustifamiljen with Stefan Sporsén as conductor.
On June 2–5, the celebration of Gothenburg’s 400 years begins with the Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival in Frihamnen. On the large tent stage, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, along with famous Gothenburg artists, invite you to a unique opening concert on 2 June. The festival is free and open to everyone.
– We are so happy that Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra is going to open the festival. Together with a number of great artists, we will showcase music that has had impact on Gothenburg, says Arna Einarsdóttir, head of planning at the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
– Gothenburg is a city of music and we have many artists, bands and orchestras to be proud of. Now we inaugurate the celebration of the 400th anniversary by offering a unique concert with some of Gothenburg’s most beloved and prominent artists together with the Swedish National Orchestra. We welcome you to this concert, which is the start of the summer festivities, says Mia Samuelsson, artistic director of the Gothenburg’s Anniversary Celebration at Göteborg & Co
