Idus Förlag publishes the children’s book “The Future Explorer Gothenburg" from Ann-Sofie Jeppson and Örjan Modén. The book is about an exciting journey in a time machine through the 400-year history of Gothenburg.
Beskrivning
There are only a few hours left until the anniversary year 2021. Four friends and a silver cat walk up to Masthugg church. A big tent has been erected on the outermost slope. It is noisy in there and the smell is strange. The university students seem to be doing something secret. Suddenly they see … “The Future Explorer Gothenburg”. That is what is written on the blue metal capsule. The hatch is open.
Silver the cat rushes in and his friends follow and off they go. They are taken on an exciting journey in a time machine through Gothenburg’s 400-year history. Through devastating fires, secret passageways, poverty, and hard work. They meet hijacking captains, artists, and sports heroes.
Gothenburg is growing. Houses are demolished and rebuilt. The Gothenburg we know today takes shape and is filled with history.
Every impact in history is a complete story interwoven with the present and the other stories in the book. And speaking of stories: One of the friends is ripe with Gothenburg jokes. And at Liseberg they even manage to change their own history.
Of course, the gang will make it back in time to celebrate the anniversary. Or what time?
The books have been written by Ann-Sofie Jeppson and Örjan Modén. Ann-Sofie Jeppson has a background as a Gothenburg architect, but has also authored historical children’s books about e.g., Polhem and Gustaf Dalén. Örjan Modén is originally a teacher and has published several learning tools over the years.
