About the book

Gothenburg is a fantastic city – and it has never before been displayed this way. It is a travel through 400 years of history – from the time when the city received its city privileges from Gustav II Adolf right up to the dynamic metropolis it is today. The images in the book are supplemented by Kristian Wedel’s stories, filled with in-depth knowledge about Gothenburg, facts, observations, and anecdotes.

The images have been centred around the concept Gothenburg of the Times. The anniversary partner, Tidernas Göteborg (Gothenburg of the Times), is a collaboration between Gothenburg City Museum, Hasselbladstiftelsen, Gothenburg University, Kamerareportage, Riksarkivet Landsarkivet Göteborg, Göteborg & Co, Göteborgs-Posten and Bokförlaget Max Ström.

About the author
