Imagine having a close friend who turns 400!

Why is Liseberg best in April? Who is Viveca dating at Östra Cemetary? Which bus line is the most fun and how does Maria explain her eternal love for Heden? Where is the portal to Gothenburg, and what happens when you ‘ligger fyr på Vinga’?

In Gothenburg, every day: In ‘Places we know’ we will travel, both in time and space, with the authors of 48 new stories telling you how it was, but we will also discover how it is now and wonder how it will be.

“The many and fine photographs perfectly complement the thoroughly worked, informative and beautifully written texts. The book should therefore be able to inspire both tourists and native people of Gothenburg to take part and further explore the varied range of cultural activities and opportunities for great nature experiences.” – Associate Professor Per Hjalmarsson in the BTJ journal no. 1, 2021.

Viveca Lärn was born in Gothenburg, the city that became her first crush, lasting a lifetime. Viveca has been a journalist on Göteborgs-Posten, GT, Aftonbladet and Sveriges Television, before she made writing her full-time career. Her latest book is the autobiography ‘Sladdisen’, about growing up in Örgryte and the city she loves. Viveca is also a participant of SöndagsMorgan in P4.

Maria Näslund was also born in Gothenburg, and she is Viveca’s daughter. Maria is a freelance journalist and literature critic with, among others, Göteborgs-Posten and the newspaper Tara as clients, and she was previously employed at Expressen where she worked as correspondent for the newspaper in London. For many years she wrote weekly columns in GT about life in Gothenburg.
