Regnskogen (Rainforest) is a sonic art work in the Palmhouse’s Kamelia house under the umbrella Rain Gothenburg. Sounds are triggered by the rain outside and changes character with the type of rainfall.
Olle Niklasson and Åke Parmerud have created a rain forest, Regnskogen (Rain forest), in Kameliahuset in the west wing of the Gothenburg Palmhouse. As a part of Rain Gothenburg, a project part of Gothenburg’s 400 anniversary celebrations, Regnskogen is a sonic art work that will change with the character of the rainfall outside.
A light rain will create gentle sounds, a heavy rain will create more complex and intense sounds, and consequently, when there’s no rain, there’s silence.
