Jubileumssatsningar / Nääs slott
31 March 2023

At Nääs you can go on a guided tour in the castle, experience food inspired of what was served in the late 19th century and, stay overnight in the historic building and buy beautiful artefacts or visit the exhibitions in the caft gallery or building conservation centre.

All around Nääs the nature is fantastic with old oaks, paths, sceneries and with nice possibilities to go for a swim in the lake or just relax.

The first inhabitants settled in Nääs as long ago as the bronze age. Later Nääs was owned by Jacob von Utfall who was a high ranking executive (a supercargo) of the Swedish East India Company, then by the merchant Peter Wilhelm Berg who built the nearby textile mill. The wholesale merchant August Abrahamson became the last private owner of the estate until 1898. A school of crafts was founded during his time at Nääs, which became known internationally as a centre of excellence.

Nowadays Nääs is open to visitors and is a popular area for events, festivals, learning, recreation, weddings, eating and overnigt stays.
