Riksänkedrottningens Livregemente Till Häst & Fot (HERS) is a freelance group of experienced historical riders and infantry from Halland and Västergötland. The group participates in reenactments, outdoor theater, tournaments and battles with other historical associations across the Nordic and northern European regions. We are passionate about historical riding and engage in everything from parades, castle games and outdoor theater to staged battles.
The regiment was formed in 1661 as Bohus-Jämtlands kavalleribataljon and later became Bohusläns kavallerikompani. In 1674, it adopted the name Riksänkedrottningens livregemente till häst, named after Queen Hedvig Eleonora of Holstein-Gottorp.
