Årsrika Gothenburg 400 – a festival for all ages

Gothenburg is aging and so are we who live here! Currently, more than 25 percent of Sweden’s population is over 65. The common knowledge and experience found here is a wealth that the whole society has everything to win to acknowledge.

As a tribute to life, during the 400th anniversary in 2023, the series Årsrika Göteborg 400 will be arranged, which includes cultural activities, seminars and lectures across, with and for the entire city.

You will be served a palette of knowledge about aging in the past and now, how you can live a longer and healthier life, ageism, digitization, dementia and other cognitive diseases, what it can be like to age as an LGBTQ person in Gothenburg, loneliness and mental health, and much more! You also get a chance to exchange ideas with others about what it is and could be like to grow old in Gothenburg.

In addition to seminars, the festival offers theatre, film, museums, music, and, speed-dating, as well as many opportunities to participate and create great generational meetings.

Welcome to Årsrika Gothenburg 400 – part of Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary!

You can find the program for January and February here.

All activities are free unless otherwise stated.
